WU17 – Ura Basket vs LePy

Story of the game

Ura Basket vs LePy on Sunday early game (10.45) – was my destination today.

Game itself, pretty close all the way as we entered the last 10 minutes of the game.

For Ura Basket, Gullichsen with 17 points with the last spell to still come, Kepsu with 13 for LePy.

Fast paced game, with sometimes the ball moving a little too fast and the players just a millisecond behind

Eight fans of the ‘LePy Ultras’ had made their way to Kaarina for this early game, and 25 home fans were in attendance.

The game did feel like a ‘Sunday Morning’ game, or perhaps it was me feeling like it?

Even with only one or two baskets between the scores, I had not YET gotten that crunch feeling.

But, with less than eight minutes to go, the home team closed the gap to two points, with two dips from the charity stripe.

Laakso two-and1 were not what Ura Basket wanted, and… at the same time, exactly what LePy needed at that moment to stretch the gap again.

And then we got a REAL game – LePy took a double digit lead through Anni Kepsu and Palmen, then Sallasmaa and Gullichsen gave Ura the lead..

But AGAIN LePy took the lead.. but a Sallasmaa sunk in a HUGE three to make the last seconds of the game a nervous ones .. but, LePy held on to a three point win as they held the last 14 seconds with a tight defensive plays.
