EBT vs Pyrintö – Women’s Korisliiga

EBT came back from ONE MONTH!! winter break, and the team was full of usual energy as they ran the game and took a big win as the Top 4 in the league battle for the positions.

Pyrintö on the other hand had already played two games after their winter break, but it definitely did not show on the court on Sunday.

On their day EBT can beat anyone in the league – and today was one of those, as they definitely made Pyrintö look second best on the day. Saying that – Pyrintö also can beat anyone on their day in the league – so maybe Sunday was just a ‘bad day in the office’.

Right – let’s look at the stats again and ‘talk like a coach’.

Three key stats :

• Points from turnovers : EBT 27 – 6 Pyrintö
• Second chance points : EBT 20 – 6 Pyrintö
• Three point percentage : EBT 41% – 14% Pyrintö

Big swings come from those stats alone ..

Looking at the scoring for EBT, no-one raises above anyone.. looking at the eight top scorers for EBT it reads : 10 points, 10 points, 9 points, 9 points, 8 points, 8 points, 7 points and 6 points.

That’s a nice stat for any coach to read – as you can count on anyone to step up and score.

One double-double – for EBT’s Nicole Ogun 10 points and 13 rebounds, otherwise – I could list the whole team as scorers in the game. Erica Mace with 6 assist, 5 rebounds and 6 steals – as well a 9 points, one to lift from the roster.

For Pyrintö – Annika Aarrejoki only one in double digits with 13 points, Stephanie McBride with 13 rebounds.

Many players have teams the ‘like’ to play against, but for Saana Kujala – is EBT a team she does NOT like to play against? This season it does seem like that.. the two games against EBT – Kujala has had two of her most quiet games this season.

She has scored 6 points in each of the two games vs EBT, and when you back to the game in December 2024 vs EBT.. in that she also only scored 7 points.

Perhaps coach Hellman and EBT have found the way to defend her??

And yes, I know now that I have said this, it means that on the 11th of March in the Pyrintö vs EBT game in Tampere.. Kujala will score 31 points!

But – it was just an interesting stat that I managed to dig out…
