MU17 – Ura Basket vs KoLa – Game #2
It’s a BIG one!
Win or Go Home for Ura Basket today in the playoffs – that is the harsh nature of Best of Three series. After one game it is already do or die.
Ura need to forget Saturday ever happened, and KoLa need to relive Saturday over and over again.
Which team will show up?? Will Ura Basket take the series to a deciding Game #3… or will KoLa head back on the sunny early spring motorways to Kouvola and enjoy their season continuing in the Finals??
The next two hours will tell us where the road leads….
Coach on focus
We photographers love an animated coach on the sideline, so – with that being said. A little gallery from today…
Game thoughts
Is this ‘anti-basketball’??
Somehow the game has managed to last for 60 minutes when the teams head to locker room for the long break.
Game? Hmm – sooo, sooo, scrappy. You know how sometimes you are missing the head or the tail from the story/game… well, at the moment I am missing both.. head and tail.
Guess this is the U17/U19 level at times, players have the highlight clips of SGA, LeBron, Markkanen, Jokic, Giannis or Luka in their mind.. but when the limbs at this age don’t quite follow the synapses as you think they should…. the result is not quite what you are after.
Ura Basket 41-46 KoLa Basket… that’s about fair at the half. Renne Ikäläinen once again big on the scoring with 27 points by the half
Väinö Vuorinen responding with 15 points for Ura Basket, Ura – who are still searching for the three point line in this series..
But – you can see there is a stake in the game, with both teams going for it and not giving an inch… we could/should be in for a pretty nice second half of the game.
39-11 run… that just happened.. and Joose Laine with some CLUTCH!!! shots.. I almost heard a ‘SNAP!!’ when Laine sunk a corner three to end the third quarter and take Ura Basket a LOT ahead..
But – before anyone think I know what I am talking about.. don’t worry, I don’t!
And even if there was a snap – this is only ONE game and we might need to go to Game #3
And yes – game #3 it will be.. Ura Basket decisive in the second half of the game and teams will meet for the third time on Tuesday in Kaarina at 18.00.
Final score 92-77 for Ura Basket – and the home fans left happy towards M1D game in Turku.
