Nordic Hoops vs LeverSports vs AI vs Fans Prediction League #1

Prediction League – First week test

Now, this is an idea I’ve thought about for a while, after seeing it on another major website (not basketball though)

So, a lighthearted and bit cheeky kind predictions of each weeks Korisliiga games. Both myself (Nordic Hoops), the team at LeverSports, an AI will look at the games of the week and make a score prediction.

We also give the fans a chance to make us all look silly .. or smart, and vote for the winner of each game.

And we keep score to see who gets most points by the end of the season.

Scoring works like this :

  • Predict the right team win = 10 points
  • Predicting the winning margin range correctly :
  • Correct score = 40 points
  • +/- 1-5 points from correct total = 20 points
  • +/- 6-12 points from correct total = 15 points
  • +/- 13-20 points from correct total = 7 points
  • +/- 21-30 points from correct score = – 10 points
  • +/- 31-80 points from correct score = – 15 points

Who has the most points in a week, ‘WINS’ that week – scores are added weekly and most points at the end of the season.. is the ‘CHAMPION’

Week #1 – 26.01-01.02.2026

HBA Märsky vs BC Nokia – Friday 30.01.2026 @18.30 Urhea-Halli, Helsinki

Nordic Hoops : This season HBA and BC Nokia have played against each other twice. Both games have ended in a big away win, so will the third game follow the trend. BC Nokia have the late addition to their roster of Cierra Walker, a player who can be the difference maker. HBA always seem to miss few players, and looks like Ada Luukkanen is missing at the moment, and she had good games vs BC Nokia the last time around.

LEVERSPORTS : As a huge HBA-fan, I believe that the way HBA press hard will eventually prove the difference between the teams and result in a home win.

I will go with youth this time, and for HBA to cement their place as the mid-table team. I can see the game being a close one, and it going to the last ten minutes.

AI : HBA has been solid at home this season against lower-table teams, and BC Nokia has struggled on the road (win rate under 30% away).

HBA’s defense should limit Nokia’s scoring, while their balanced attack (led by young talents) pulls away in the second half. Expect a moderate margin win—no big upset here.

NH : HBA 71 – 65 BC Nokia

LEVER : HBA 71 – 59 BC Nokia

AI : HBA 78 – 64 BC Nokia

EBT vs ViVe – Saturday 31.01.2026 @17.00 Espoonlahden liikuntahalli

Nordic Hoops : First time EBT welcome ViVe to Espoonlahti this season., so far two game in Vimpeli (well, Lapua) and both have been big scoring games. It has taken over 90 points to win, in both games. Question in this game, and many others : How do you solve a problem called Sara Puckett?

And by this I mean, how do you keep her from scoring under 35 points! I think if EBT can find a way to slow her scoring, that is a big step. For ViVe – they need to stop Nicole Ogun in the paint and at the same time keep the perimeter quiet.

I can see a high scoring game, and probably needing close to the 90 point mark to win this. ViVe have just been SO strong recently and I can’t see anyone stopping them right now.

LEVERSPORTS : ViVe is sailing in a ten game winning streak and EBT is missing one key player (Erika Mace), so this time – the prediction will turn towards Vimpeli.

AI : You’re spot on about Sara Puckett being the matchup nightmare—she’s been dropping 30+ consistently and thrives in high-scoring games (those two Vimpeli meetings averaged 90+ to win).

EBT has home court and Nicole Ogun inside, but ViVe’s recent form is unstoppable (hot streak, elite road defense). I see ViVe controlling the perimeter and letting Puckett feast for another high-scoring win, but closer than some of their blowouts.

NH : EBT 76 – 92 ViVe

LEVER : EBT 69 – 83 ViVe

AI : EBT 82 – 88 ViVe

ToPo vs Tapiolan Honka – Saturday 31.01.2026 @17.00 Kisahalli, Helsinki

Nordic Hoops : Two wins for Tapiolan Honka in this fixture this season, and one of them coming just two weeks ago. BUT!! ToPo have welcomed Magdalene Agyei to their roster, and in her opening game she scored over 20 points against dominant ViVe.

Honka are playing with one import at the moment, but have still kept winning games.

Looking at the history of this fixture in Kisahalli over the past seasons, as well as the return of Agyei to the roster. I can only go for a home win in this game. And it might be a big one?

LEVERSPORTS : ToPo had their ‘almost upset’ moment last week (game vs Vimpeli), and after that game, I believe that the team will go all out in their search for the important points with Magdalene Agyei leading the charge.

AI : Honka has owned this matchup lately (two wins this season, including a recent one), but Magdalene Agyei’s debut/return game was electric (20+ vs ViVe—huge boost for ToPo’s interior and energy).

Home court in Kisahalli + Agyei’s athleticism should flip the script. Honka’s one-import setup limits them; ToPo pulls away for a solid home victory, maybe not quite as big as your 17-point call but comfortable.

NH : ToPo 80 – 63 Tapiolan Honka

LEVER : ToPo 75 – 62 Tapiolan Honka

AI : ToPo 78 – 70 Tapiolan Honka

Tampereen Pyrintö vs PeKa – Saturday 31.01.2026 @17.00 Pyynikin palloiluhalli, Tampere

Nordic Hoops : Random fact PeKa are on a seven game WINNING run against Pyrintö at Pyynikki, so will this be the time that the tide turns? The two games this season have been close, both ending in a seven point win for PeKa.

For PeKa – will Delanie Crawford return to the roster? For Pyrintö – Saana Kujala is very much due a BIG scoring game.

Now, all streaks come to an end, some new streaks will start. But not this time – both PeKa and Pyrintö have been through many rosters in that seven game streak, and even if the game will be close – the away team will clinch this!

LEVERSPORTS : I predict this to be the tightest game to call this weekend! Much depends whether both teams have their full rosters to call upon, but at this time – I predict a home win with the tightest of margins for Pyrintö!

AI : That seven-game PeKa winning streak at Pyynikki is intimidating, and their two wins this season were tight (both by 7).

But streaks end, and this feels like the spot: Pyrintö at home with Saana Kujala overdue for a breakout (she can explode for 20+). Delanie Crawford’s status is a question mark (no clear injury reports, but if she’s limited, PeKa loses edge). Pyrintö’s defense + crowd energy snaps the streak in a gritty, low-scoring battle.

NH : Pyrintö 67 – 79 PeKa

LEVER : Pyrintö 81 – 79 PeKa

AI : Pyrintö 72 – 70 PeKa
