Which is the best looking jersey from WU18?
A little light hearted ranking of the various jerseys of the national teams from the WU18 Nordic Championships in Sweden, from a photographers point of view.
So which jerseys did I like the best, and which ones did not light up the sky.
As always, these rankings are purely based on the way the colors, font, logos, etc work in my opinion – and the jersey designers are much better making the jerseys look the way they have been asked.. but still, we all can have opinions 🙂
Top 3 – the best looking jerseys
#1 – ICELAND (white)
In my eyes – the best looking jersey of the tournament, colors are great, the sponsor logo not too intrusive. Good contrast in the photos – which I guess is always a big thing for me as a photographer.
#2 – SWEDEN (YELLOW)
You would think that as a Finn – I would have multiple traumas from seeing the yellow&blue of Sweden jersey, but still – it does really good in the photos. The Täljehallen probably isn’t the best place and lighting for this kit – but something about this just shouts out ‘SWEDEN!’
#3 – DENMARK (RED)
Just seem to be going with some cooler-code here – with each of the top 3 in different colour. The Danish red-kit is really nice, not too crowded in the front, leaving the Danmark and number good space to be the main focus points … nothing I hate more than jersey front full of advertising!! So well done Denmark for keeping your jersey looking classy!
The middle
In to the ‘middle / average’ section I have selected these five kits.
Iceland (Blue) – Just not as good as the white, in some images or with a specific background- this kit really looks on fire, but other.. just nah. Also – think the sponsor logo is bit more visible with the colorscheme .. so, few places off the top.
Finland (White) – Definitely the ‘better’ of the Finland jerseys – this looks really good without the red big sponsor logo .. so if it would have been that, then this would have been in the Top3. But now – we’ll class this to the average section.
Norway (both!) – Even if these kits are very different, they are also the same. One of my big bugs about this jersey is the number.. just don’t love the font/size.. I know – personal preference and it is what it is.
Estonia (Blue) – The sponsor logo here is so close to the Estonia text – that it is what bothers me with this shirt – once again, same as with Finland shirt – without the logo.. Top 3 shirt!
Bottom 4
Yep – some shirts always have to come in the end… I have reasons in my mind, but maybe I just keep them there 😉
