Honka U15 vs Beat Basket
WU16-19 3rd Division Southern Region – Spring
New league for me, the WU16-19 3rd Division – Southern Region.
This wasn’t a game I was planning to go to, but – as the game was ongoing while I waited for the first planned game. I could not just sit around and do nothing, so I aimed my cameras at the game and captured some of it.
Spring season has just started, and I think at this level they don’t publish ‘proper’ full box scores – so I won’t go into too much detail. From the stats I can only see points and fouls.
Honka U15 turn the heat in the second half
Going into the half-time – it was Beat Basket who were up by 3 points, but two STRONG quarters from Honka U15 turned the game to the home team with the end results after 40 minutes : Honka U15 50 – 29 Beat Basket.
From the stats, Honka U15 had Vilhelmiina Järvi and Aleksandra Istomina in double digits, with 12 points and 11 points respectively. For Beat Basket Aida Ekmen and Anette Tonska the two top scorers.
League standings
The WU16-19 3rd Division – Southern Region (spring) League has 7 teams, and after one or two games having been played, Honka U15 are on the 4th place and Beat Basket 5th, right behind Honka U15. At the top – having played two and won them both, is ToPo yellow.
It was a fun new league to discover, and I hope that the players and their parents weren’t too shocked to see someone on the baseline with a camera and capturing the game. It might not be an every day occurrence at this level of the game – but, I enjoyed it and hopefully will get to another game as well, before the season is done.
