Karkkila keep up the pressure
Game that was over too soon
Harsh?? Maybe, but when the game is 30-13 after the first ten and 66-32 after 20 minutes… it really was a game that didn’t offer much excitement to the person behind the camera.
After ACO Oulu made their latest signing during the week, Karkkila put on a show at home against HBA to show that they are keeping up the pressure on the table topping Oulu.
End result? Oh yes, there was one of those as well in this game – Karkkila 107-73 HBA.
Credit to HBA, after the long break, the team did come up with a good fighting spirit to contest the second half of the game.
Think like a coach
As HBA coach – after the game, I would go into the locker room – and even if they lost the game would put a positive spin on it ‘ After losing the opening 20minutes by 34 points to one of the best teams in the league, the second half we matched them and ended the half 41-41’
As the coach of Karkkila.. hmm.. might mention how the team came half asleep to the second half.. but – if we keep this positive as well. ‘ 42 points in the paint, 31 points from turnovers, 55% from 3 point range.. good win, but we know we can be better!’

Karkkila : Double-Double for Caleb Jones-McCrary 17 points and 10 rebounds, 30 points for Joey Holifield, 21 points for Nestori Kivimäki …as well as double-digit points for Patrik Poutiainen and Markus Hyytiäinen.
HBA : Benjamin Passila 13 points and 8 rebounds, Christian Blomfelt 14 points, Kalle Kuhalampi 15 points ..
But really – it was a game that was ‘over’ so soon, that it felt like it was played quite ‘relaxed’ .. and if you think both teams ONLY!!! took 13 fouls each.. that tells you a story of the game already..
