All Star team and MVP for WU18

WU18 Nordics are done, teams probably home by now – or very soon there.

And the photographer still in his camper at the harbour in Kappelskär waiting for the boat to take him back to Finland (before the WU16 and MU16 Nordics start at the end of next week!).

The organisers chose their All Star Team, which was

  • Jessi Nenonen (Finland)
  • Erika Mace (Finland)
  • Lisa Sirgi (Estonia)
  • Kolbrun Maria Armannsdottir (Iceland)
  • Leila Bajagilovic (Sweden)

For me – even if it does feel a bit wrong (looking at the stats) – I do need to make one change.. it is the ‘rules’ I have for myself when making these… sorry. The rule is that MVP or All Star has to come from a team with ‘winning ratio in games played’ ..

  • Rebekka Steingrimsdottir (Iceland) replaces Lisa Sirgi (Estonia)

My team – with the bench :

  • Jessi Nenonen
  • Erika Mace
  • Ada Luukkanen
  • Lisa Sirgi
  • Laura Grünmann
  • Kolbrun Maria Armannsdottir
  • Rebekka Steingrimsdottir
  • Hulda Agnarsdottir
  • Leila Bajagilovic
  • Melissa Yildrim
  • Oda Marie Tveiten
  • Ida Kirkeby Westphall
  • Coach : Janne Hänninen

I think with that team one could do quite well, or maybe not..

The vote I put on this website – the results from that were :

  • 1 – Hulda Agrnarsdottir 31,9%
  • 2 – Kolbrun Maria Armannsdottir 23,8%
  • 3 – Jessi Nenonen 17,72%
  • 4 – Laura Grünmann 17,22%
  • 5 – Erika Mace 5,57%
  • 6 – Ebba Jägre 1,52%

So – that was the MVP voted by the public.

However – I will also choose an MVP .. and that doesn’t take much time to think.

MVP for the WU18 Nordic Championships is …..

JESSI NENONEN, FINLAND !!
