WU18 Final – thoughts …
Two undefeated teams
This game .. really I don’t feel like writing anything about it.
It wasn’t a good game from either team – or that’s how I felt. Finland came out scoring fast in the opening 5 minutes, but still – it wasn’t like Finland was playing super good.
Then when the lead really stretched so big .. it sort of killed the game before it even got going.
Real shame, had big hopes that Iceland would have been a thorn in the side of Finland in the game … but wasn’t to be.
Credit to Iceland for coming out of the locker room at half time and winning the 3rd quarter, so they never gave up on the game.
The general mood wasn’t helped by the fact that there was about 8 people watching the game in the stands.. normally at Nordic Championships you have various age groups.. so other teams come to watch games.. but unfortunately the WU18 is just for these teams..
Maybe tomorrow I feel more positive about the game – but right now, the best thing about it.. is that it is finished.

Oh, just a side mention .. not that it was mentioned at the venue or anywhere.. Finland WU18 are now the Nordic Champions 2025 !!!! Congratulations.. ( I captured the scenes in the locker room after the game… but, players might not want those shared publicly !! )
