Pre-playoff hangover?

Went to Biisonit vs KarhuBasket game on Friday in Loimaa – and with neither team really having the greatest need for points.

Actually the reason I went to this game was to see Karhu’s new signing – as well as Omar Calhoun making a comeback to Korisliiga.. always great to see players who’ve been here before making a return….

What with KarhuBasket being 2nd in the league regardless of their last games results, and Biisonit knowing they will be 6th or 5th.. and could face either Kataja or Vilpas .. regardless of their wins/defeats in the last games..

So game really was just what I was expecting – both teams having the capability to get the game into the sixth gear, but neither really getting out of fourth gear…

Still – it was a game where a photographer started to feel like .. ‘is it possible to have a game with too many dunks??’ – with the way Biisonit defence was punctured time and time again on the opening 20minutes – the free and easy dunks just kept on coming one after the other.

Luckily for the home fans the home team did find the fourth gear and got the game close on the final quarter – and made KarhuBasket work a bit harder for their win.

But – at this stage of the season with not that much at stake – games can end up being a little underwhelming.. luckily only a week and bit to go and it’s playoffs time.

Both sets of fans seemed to enjoy the game as there was constant drumbeat from both ends of the court all through the 40minutes… (which ended giving a me a nice headache on the way home.. so now it’s Burana time and hoping to get to sleep soon!)
