From Sweden to the foot of the Alps – road trip goes on
For the second part of the van life road trip video – I manage to make it to the foothills of the Alps in southern Germany – when I started the travels in Denmark.
Farum – one month too soon
First stop after the ferry from Sweden to Denmark – chose this instead of the bridge.
Was Farum, a place where I will be later in February with Susijengi – so went to check out what kind of town we’re heading into .. and I REALLY hope we (the team) will stay here instead of Copenhagen 30km away .. Farum seemed like a nice little town and much nicer for walks and stuff than Copenhagen.
It was also fun that the venue where the game will be played, was all open and I could walk around to see what the venue looked like.
The other important thing was to buy ‘ Get Rafi a toy from each country I visit ‘ – so luckily there was a pet shop in the shopping center and managed to get a toy from there just before it closed.
Parking in Farum was by a bike shop – a free park by the road, which got quiet after 21.00 – so got a nice sleep before heading early in the morning towards another ferry and then onto Hannover.
Hannover – only 180 minutes of parking
Thought I had chosen a good place to park – only to find out that it was free for 180 minutes.
So it was quick little coffee meeting with Veera Pirttinen in Hannover and interview in a local park – then running back to the car at Edeka parking lot and having 5 minutes to spare
Parking for the night was in Golmbach – a little middle of nowhere village.
The stellplatz was superb, and paying with Easypark was a breeze, the village had nothing as in shops, but really nice old building and a great cyclepath to walk along in the evening.
Really almost all one could as from a parking place for a night.
Road trip – not a holiday
But – the morning comes soon and the road calls …
Following day had a long drive in front of me, as I was heading from Golmbach to Pill – and getting to alpine territory in Austria, also heading into the first country with a vignette (road tolls) – but unlike in the old days.. no more stickers to the windows to show everyone where you’ve been … just a digital vignette to say you have paid… slightly boring for me 🙂
