Sport can unite us!

Sometimes the job brings you to places or situations that just stop you for a minute, like today.

Finland and Ukraine will play tomorrow a game in Women’s EuroBasket qualification, and after Finland arrived to Riga today .. before their evening practice the Finnish team had made white t-shirts with the Ukrainian flag and arrived to the practice venue wearing them .. and after Ukraine had finished their practice, the two teams came together tor a ‘team photo’

Sometimes it is these moments that make an ordinary day .. an extra ordinary day.

The Finnish men’s national team also did the same last summer when Ukraine played a friendly game against Finland in Jyväskylä.

It is not always that I get asked to go to the away games, but sometimes – like today, it was good that I had decided to come to the away game regardless… so this moment was captured for the archives.

Tomorrow – it is game day here in Riga – with both teams going for the W!

But for tonight – let’s enjoy a moment when sport brings two teams together in a moment of unity!
