Team of the Week 44 – Korisliiga
With two games on Sunday in Korisliiga – it brought one change to the Team of the Week, with a team mate knocking another one to the bench..
So – my team of the week for the week 44 of 2018 – is as follows :

Malik Dime (Ura Basket) : This player really had a monster week in Korisliiga, with two outstanding performances. His inclusion to the Team of the Week comes from his performance in Ura’s win vs Korihait earlier in the week. Where he ripped 24 boards and knocked down 28 points. Dime is tall, but not the tallest player in the league, his timing for the blocks is just out of this world. Will be only a question of time before he records a Triple-Double this season…
Avery Woodson (Ura Basket) : Another one of Ura’s strong imports, Woodson also gets his place in the team after the win in Uusikaupunki, not as flashy on the stats. But 32 points and over all strong performance on the court. And the percentage with which shots kept going in, really does credit to the player. Who has to work hard in every game, and with Ura going through a 4 games in 7 days spell… the Ura fans must hope he can keep the intensity going.
Eron Harris (Pyrinto) : It’s about time we get someone from the 100point team to the Team of the Week. Harris played well in Pyrinto’s only game of the week. Where they ran rampant past Seagulls, with yet ANOTHER over 100 point score. Shooting well over 80% from the field, and running the back court .. Harris was the stand-out guard for this week. 27 points and top efficiency in the game showed why coach Toiviainen enjoys the approximately 30 minutes Harris give in each game.
Michael Morsell (Kobrat) : Before hand, this coming from the surprise result of the week. Kobrat (going 2-0 this week!) show why they are the surprise package of the early season. As they hammered a 26 point win over the defending champions KarhuBasket – 80% shooting from the field, and 100% from free throw line, earned Morsell 28 points in the game. Alongside Khalil Small, the duo form a formidable threat to every defence in the league. The chemistry in the team is also contributing to everyone being able to deliver the results.
Larry Anderson (Kobrat) : Anderson was the thorn in the side of Ura on Sunday evening, through out the whole game. Dropping the points when needed and grabbing the boards (although no Malik Dime, still a threat for the rebounds). It was also his SEVEN steals, and couple just when Ura were making their run to close the gap, that gave more impact to his performance. Not sure of the finer points of tactics, etc – but the imports in Kobrat team seem to be really enjoying their game at the moment.. and giving the fans a reason to get out of their seats more than just to get the half time sausage and coffee.
From the bench : Tuukka Kotti (Seagulls), Sean O’Mara (BC Nokia), Teemu Rannikko (Vilpas), Daniel Mullings (Kataja), Topias Kuukkanen (Korihait), Ville Kaunisto (Kouvot)
