Korisliiga Social Media – 3 year later
On Twitter, I made some post few years ago, looking at the following of Korisliiga teams on Social Media. Really just out of curiosity and to see what platforms are most popular and how the audience grows over the season… that was in 2018.
Now, in 2022 – with time to spare š I thought to have a look how things have developed. Back in 2018, it was all Facebook, Facebook, Facebook.. Instagram really was something that was barely there with most teams in terms of following and Twitter… never seems to get much traction.
How have things changed, first of all – glad to see that all teams have grown their following! The biggest gains by far, have been on the Instagram following, for example Koriliiga (the leagues account) has gone from 2800 to 7700 in the last three years, and teams like KTP and KarhuBasket.. who back in 2018 had following on IG in the region of 700, the both now have around 2500 followers.
There is still the one strange (for me) stat among the numbers, which is the 18000 on Facebook for Seagulls… really putting anything else in shadow, even their own IG:7300 and Twitter:4300 – both of which are the highest among the league teams
So – for me.. the trend is going upwards and teams are gaining followers.. let’s see what the new season brings in October!
