Nordic Championships – U16 – 2023
Something different, Susipaparazzi went full on Moosenation in Kisakallio on Monday.
Monday was an early flight from Arlanda to Helsinki and via a two hour nap at home, to Kisakallio for the U16 Nordic Championships. This time not taking photos for the Finnish team, but mainly for the Swedish team… which made a refreshing change for me.
Sometimes it nice to have something different in front of your camera, players you really do not know and stuff.. guess with the Finnish teams.. most of the players have seen me and know who I am 🙂 Which of course gives other benefits when shooting the games and training.
Now it is time to say Thank You to the Nordic Championships, managed to somehow go to each event – which we had three this summer. With the WU18 playing on their own first, then the MU18, and WU/MU20 started next, before the U16 tournament wrapped it all up in Finland. Definitely was nice to have the tournament elsewhere than in SusiCenter.. not that there is anything wrong there… but change is good at times.
Next year, looking forward to maybe Norway or Iceland taking the responsibility for hosting the event 🙂 Would not mind a week or ten day in Iceland or Norway covering the Youth Nordics… so feel free to organise the event, I shall be there !!
So am I having a break now, a so called ‘summer holiday’??? What do you think, of course not… two/three days to wrap things up from the early summer and then it is full on to the end of summer stretch leading up to the World Cup … although, I am not quite sure why I am saying I am going to the World Cup… it’ll still be weeks before FIBA will send the possible accreditations, and it’s been 10 years since my last World Cup… so no guarantees of one getting accepted. In the end I am only a team photographer – these days there are many other types of media that go in front me in the queue to get accepted. So better hold on for a while before celebrating the World Cup trip…
Last two weeks were fun – captured lots of stuff… now, clean the cameras, back-up the photos and videos. Summer has just begun.. but also, it is almost over!
