HBA take the W in Loimaa vs FoA

After having written about the youth prospects of WU18 National Team, did I have any choice apart from head to Loimaa for the Forssan Alku vs Helsinki Basketball Academy game on Saturday afternoon?

So many of the players I mentioned were there on the HBA roster, and of course some I haven’t mentioned.

Today it the foursome of Lilli Onnela, Tiia Talonen, Ada Luukkanen and Aino Koskela who were the top scorers for the Academy squad, Tiia Talonen top scored for HBA with 27 points, Ada Luukkanen had 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists – so flirting with a triple-double, Lilli Onnella with 19 points and 10 rebounds made double-double and Aino Koskela was dropping three pointers for fun at the beginning of the match.

Forssa once again enjoyed good stats from Jada Lewis and Johanna Timperi – with Lewis being the top scorer of the game with 30 points.

There were signs of better things to come for Forssa who are at the moment stuck to the foot of the table with just one win this season – but with the league diving into upper and lower half after next week – do not count them out just yet!

HBA on the other hand, will not be able to make it to the top half, but with six wins are slowly starting to secure their league spot for next season as well.
