Team of the Week – Korisliiga (men) 05

Sunday morning and stats have been looked at, points have been counted and we have our Team of the Week for Game Week 05 in Men’s Korisliiga in Finland.

Some big scoring games, some less so – few games were there were so few points/rebounds/assists that even if one player would have made ALL of them – that still would not have been enough to get to the team 😉

Some familiar names, some new names – some you might not expect, and no Jeremiah Wood this week!

CENTER : And as I mentioned Wood – let’s see who do we have under the basket instead this week. It is from a game where Jeremiah Wood played (and Wood had better points total than the eventual winner!!) – and it was a Double-Overtime game in Loimaa where somehow Seagulls managed to win the game (not sure how!) – maybe it was partly due to the massive game by KALIB BOONE of HELSINKI SEAGULLS – who gets the call to be the starting player under the basket for this weeks Team of the Week.

FORWARDS : Seems like you can’t have a Team of the Week without a player from KatajaBasket – maybe there is a reason why the team is so high in the league table. So who is it this week?? First spot on the wings goes to a familiar face in the Team of the Week – TRAVIS JOCELYN of KATAJABASKET and he is joined by CURTIS HOLLIS of HELSINKI SEAGULLS (from the double O.T game in Loimaa). So two call-ups for Helsinki Seagulls this week in the team.

GUARDS : These two players come from teams in the same region, one of them is a recent arrival to the Korisliiga, and the other was in the running to be The Player of the Month for October – so from TAMPEREEN PYRINTÖ and BC NOKIA we get our backcourt duo for this week – with their performances in their respective games (actually the results page on Korisliiga website is down at the moment – so luckily I had taken the stats for the Team of the Week last night!!)

But from TAMPEREEN PYRINTÖ – no surprise that it is TOPIAS PALMI who returns to the team after missing out on the spot last week. Second player as a guard is BC NOKIA new signing ISAIAH ROSS who has been finding his way into the Finnish game over the last week and a bit.. and this week gets his first Team of The Week nomination.
