Western Region 2 division – Vilpas vs Riipparit – content visit!
When you love basketball, you love it at every level!
To be fair, I always respect the players who play on the lower down divisions much more than I do the players who play in NBA or EuroLeague or any higher level. The players on the ‘grass roots’ level of the game are the ones who are the reason why I love this game!
Same goes for all the photographers who shoot local/national games at these levels, I take my hat off for you who go to the dimly lit venues to shoot every week and come out with excellent images in ‘candle light’.
Having said all this, I ventured into the Women’s Western Region 2nd Division game between Salon Vilpas and Riipparit at Salon Urheilutalo today.
Never before have I photographer either of these teams, or this level of the game, so I didn’t know at all what to expect.
And what I got, was a very entertaining game of basketball and a crowd of about 70 people watching the game (there weren’t 70 people at the Women’s top tier game in Helsinki last night!) – and yes, I did actually count how many spectators there were at the venue 🙂
