On the road – Day 3
Wednesday… Day 3 of ?? on the Susipaparazzi travels..
Cool night, with not much sleep as enjoyed the lightning and thunder show that nature put up for us, didn’t see any of the flooding few hundred meters away from the hotel.
Workwise – checking out the catwalks above the arena for remote cameras, did few interviews for the Finnish broadcaster of tonight’s game, covered two training sessions and spent rest of the time editing various social media videos (one I am QUITE excited to see the reaction to it.. it is gonna be a Marmite reaction I think.. you either love it or hate it..)

As always on my assignments, the two things you find the least time for are Eating and Sleeping, and not much of those two done on Wednesday… breakfast was around 5am .. next meal was dinner at 8.45pm. I am considering making a book on the ‘photographers diet’ .. kinda ironic coming from me, as I have worked as a chef prior to picking up the cameras.

Have to say that covering basketball in Finland, rarely does one get to photograph the game in venues such as Nokia Arena in Tampere.. so looking forward to seeing how the game photos look like from tonight, the venue should be pretty sold out.. so decent backgrounds as well.
OH!!! The biggest news of Wednesday.. my camera ‘family’ received a new addition 😍 Rarely have felt like this when going to look at a new camera to buy… maybe the last time was years ago when I found ‘The Eye of Sauron’ (Canon 200mm f1.8) and bought that one. It’s like one of those pieces of equipment you dream of owning.. and I still have the Sauron, even if I am on Team Sony these days.
But this one… I don’t know, when I saw it on the shops website… I was just like ‘ I WANT IT!!! ‘ So when we came to Tampere and I nervously kept looking at their website that the camera wasn’t sold.. I pretty much ran to the store (well, those who know me – at the moment there is not much running) in the morning to make sure no-one bought it- Guess someone could have ordered it online overnight. Still – it was available and when the clerk brought it for me to hold and look at… yep, this baby was coming home with me!!
So?? What is this camera that I keep going on about?? Piece of photography history : Voigtlander Bessamatic WITH the Zoomar 36-82mm f2.8 zoom!!! Which is the first ever zoom lens made for 35mm still photography, made in 1959 !!! And it still looks BEAUTIFUL!!! Can’t WAIT to get to use this in the coming weeks… I already have a little project in mind.

More photos OF the camera, and photos taken with the camera to come in the coming weeks. But you got to admit.. that is one ‘sexy’ little piece of photographic equipment.
