Naisten Korisliiga – HBA vs Honka – video, photos + recap of the game
Exciting evening at Urhea-halli to capture Naisten Korisliiga game between HBA and Tapiolan Honka on Game Day 04, photos, video and recap of the game!
The way the game started, it is a BIG surprise that Honka scored under 100 points in the game. It looked like Honka were having what we call a ‘pöljä päivä’ with about the first 6 or 7 three pointers (or shots from the line) going through the hoop.
But as often is the case with teams who shoot a lot of threes, they won’t all go in and the percentage will drop as the game goes on.
So from the about 20 point lead after 5 minutes, you thought it was a going to be one way traffic all night long. But HBA had other plans and brought the game to with-in 8 points at one stage, but in the end Honka just found the baskets on last two quarters to close the game comfortably with a 93-67 win.
From HBA the top to on the stats were Tiia Talonen and Lilli Onnela – them being only players to reach double digits on scoring.
On Honka – their Americans – Stone and Walker took the biggest scores of the night, with super contributions from Emma Ristola and Olivia Saarelainen (to name few). And of course can not leave without a mention the fact that Cierra Walker scored a big TRIPLE-DOUBLE with 20 points – 12 rebounds – 10 assists, add to that 4 steals – it is almost a quadruple-double.
Honka lead the league having played four games and won them all – looks like it might be a good season for the team in green and white! HBA are with one win from four games, and with their young roster are still getting their game together at this early stage of the season.
