Day 01 – Baltic Sea Cup 2024 Finland U16 and U18

First day of photography in the books for 2024 – four games at the Baltic Sea Cup in Tallinn.

The WU16 and WU18 play in the ‘small gym’ at Audiences, and MU16 and MU18 at the bigger venue – for me as a photographer all that I care about is the light 😉 And let’s just say that the smaller gym has a slightly challenging lighting there, but we work with what we got 🙂

Finland had a nice start to the year with taking 3 wins out of their 4 games vs Latvia today – only MU16 narrowly losing to Latvia in the second game of the day.

For me, especially at the U16 ages group – SOOOO many new players to photograph for the first time in their careers – for some of the players.. maybe the first time of seeing me at a game as well. But – they will get used to seeing me on the baseline soon enough 🙂

Lots of photos snapped at all four games, and I’m still considering popping back across the road for one more game tonight… if I have the energy to do so.

But – let’s give the stage to images instead of words today – one gallery of U16 images and another of U18 images… and let’s just say that Finnish teams definitely have some ‘cheat codes’ … excited to see the talent on court!

Oh – and yes, all images have been taken by myself – so PLEASE do not take them/use them without permission. I know that getting a photo of your son/daughter playing is great… but do get in touch with me if you want to use them. These youth events are always bit of tests whether one can publish any images.
