Nordic Championships – GD 5??
Sunday morning at the Täljehallen – here at 8.40am .. why???
Well, as far as I was aware, there was going to be a third place playoff game between the Men U20 Finland and Estonia today at 9am here.. so pack my bags at the hotel, early check out and head to the Arena. In the main arena Norway and Sweden are warming-up.. go to the second gym … aaah, this looks… empty???
So quick message to the assistant coach of Finland team to ask : ‘Sorry, but is your game today cancelled?? The website doesn’t show the game and the arena looks deceptively empty…’

Reply in a minute… ‘ Yep, game cancelled …’
Sometimes we media/content creators get the messages first… sometimes we get them last. Like we might know weeks in advance about players signing for teams… and sometimes we might arrive to an arena to find out that practice or game is cancelled or moved elsewhere…
But – always find the positive… it gives me time to make this Blog post 🙂
Yesterday was a busy day on all fronts – made tons of different content, still and video. It always hits you different when not having to produce certain material and sort of go… ‘hmm… maybe this might work??’ When at tournaments and games.. often there is the certain things you need to get from there.. so when you don’t HAVE to get anything, you often end up getting more.
One reels video to ‘promote’ the WU20 Final (which I still assume is going ahead???) – players own behind the scenes video – few different photo posts… definitely went hard on the posts in the last 24 hours from the Nordic Championships. Also taking some ideas from other creators from here, with me to Finland and what I could do there.
And really, nothing beats the feeling when players go full-in on helping you create the content – for that I am always grateful and never take granted!!
Now – it’s just the case of getting through a long last day in Södertälje, before a night at Arlanda.. and then home to rainy Finland
It’s been a great week here, meeting lots of cool people, taking lots of photos and videos .. eating some school canteen type of food.. and WAY TOOOO MUCH gluten… my stomach is all over the place after the week here. Honestly, every meal has had gluten … I know athletes and pasta!! Been managing to move plenty, despite spending about 10 hours a day at the Arena, and another 8 in front of the computer – a steady 16.000 steps a day and with the stairs at the Arena, also the ‘floor count’ has been reached. Sleep on the other hand… heat/noise/etc… my watch tells me that my sleep score has been rather poor this week and my ‘body battery’ hasn’t charged much.
