On the road – Day 9

Day 9 of ??

This one is an easy day to sum up – why??

Because I slept most of it 🙂

4am start from airport hotel in Helsinki, after a long while a Lufthansa flight. Why do I say that, because when I lived in the UK, I probably was on 4-6 Lufthansa flights a week, traveling to cover games and Finnish players in various leagues… now, it’s been a while.

Was a trip down a memory lane when I went to the Lounge in Munich to have breakfast after the first flight, and have to say, not much has changed in the years since my frequent flyers days. Pretty much the same breakfast awaited there as back in the day… good to know some things stay the same.

So flight was Helsinki-Munich-Prague – and then taxi to the team hotel in Prague, and get set-up and ready for the teams arrival on Wednesday.

5am at Helsinki airport
Up into the air while the rises

Even the flying these days doesn’t give the same ‘buzz’ as before, I mean – it is GREAT to go and cover the games.. I just don’t fancy the travel too much (time to invent teleporting!!). The hotel in Prague, it’s a hotel.. and one that most tourists would love the location of (not gonna share it here… as the teams stay there..so). But for me, it is maybe a bit too central – of course handy for shops (no time for shopping), restaurants (take-away please), handy transport to the venue (great!!), good for getting media done with the team (excellent!).

Just need to wake-up around 6am most days to get to enjoy Prague when it is a bit more quiet!

Good bye Finland for few weeks..

After arriving to the hotel in mid-afternoon… little stroll in town, went to Foto Optika (vintage camera store) for a little browse around.. never too much time spent looking at cameras 😉 But I did not buy anything as I have my Bessamatic to test on this trip… really look forward to sharing photos I get with that!!!

Quick bite of something to eat, back to the hotel… THINK about watching something on Netflix or something.. get the iPad out.. lay in bed… decide that it’s all a bit much and go to sleep at around 6.30pm… and sleep quite well until 5am… after few nights of surviving with 4 hours of sleep.. this night was MUCH needed to start the week with in Prague!

Sleep time!!

Tomorrow the team will arrive here, and then it’s all hands on deck while we get to work creating content for Susijengi!!
