Race for the All Stars Team + MVP vote
Where we at after Game Day 03
So, after three games a piece for all the teams, where are we in regards to the race to All Stars Team of the U16 Nordic Championships in Kisakallio.
When you read these – just a reminder that I am not a scout, coach, expert in knowing who is a good player and who is not… I just look at what I see and look at the stats.

But – here is my All Stars Team candidates after Game Day 03!
All Stars – Games 3/5

- Mille Sørensen (Denmark) – Consistent, scoring, dishing the ball, stealing the ball. Drawing most fouls, so getting ‘easy buckets’ from the charity stripe. Sørensen is a big part of Team Denmark still being undefeated in the tournament – so gets a strong shout for a place in the team.
- Hermosa Darbo Pereira (Sweden) – Strong all around performance, looking at the stats and there aren’t many positive stats where Pereira is not in the top 10 – or in most cases Top 5 players in the tournament.
- Inga Ingadottir (Iceland) – Miss Double-Double – points/boards – apart from the Sweden game – Inga has been a player who has the control of the paint, be it scoring or going for a rebound. It also seems she is growing into the tournament with the latest game (vs Estonia) being a totally dominant performance.
- Ida Riihijärvi (Finland) – Big key player in the Finland roster and her big game vs Sweden helped open the WU16 Championships wide open, Riihijärvi has quick hands and able to score and has experience to deal with the big games.

- Bob Da Silva (Denmark) – Just for the highlights reel, Da Silva would almost deserve a spot from just all the dunks in the tournament – but as well as giving Mr FriimixTape some cool clips – Da Silva has outshined many opponents in other categories as well. Strong shout at this stage of the tournament for the All Stars Team.
- Lucas Troels-Smith (Denmark) – Does the ‘other work’ for team Denmark, as well as some of the unseen work – that doesn’t show in the main stats, not that the main stats aren’t there in the top with the best of them.
- Victor Lagerkvist (Sweden) – From the very even Swedish team, it is hard to lift individuals who have outperformed others, but Lagerkvist is a player who does contribute big points in games – and is one of the many reasons Sweden are where they are in the tournament after three games.
- Benoni Andrason (Iceland) – When you look at the four main categories of stats : Points, Assists, Blocks and Steals – is in the Top 5 of all of them.
