Coach of the Month – Korisliiga (women) October 2024
Time to get the last ‘award’ for October out of the oven.
So who was the coach who impressed the most in Korisliiga (women) in October, of course, needed to be a winning team – so that left six teams to choose from.
Table topping Peli-Karhut and Roope Mäkelä of course have a strong case for this, with being top of the table and having also played VERY well in EuroCup Women – but as this is for Korisliiga only, one has to look past the Euro-adventures of PeKa.
Niko Hellman and Joonas Frimodig from EBT and Kouvottaret respectively both have had their teams ready to the start of the season. Kouvottaret with having kept some import players seemed very ready to start the season, and the young all-Finnish roster at EBT just keeps entertaining and never slowing down.
Petteri Molenius of Tampereen Pyrintö has really given them an injection at the early games, and the team is doing better than many expected – Niko Nyholm at Honka likewise, keeping Cierra Walker for another season and adding strong imports to play alongside her and the Finnish core of the team has once again stepped up.
But – that leaves us with one name – the team is the only team undefeated this season, and the new head coach is definitely enjoying a great start to the head coach stint at ToPo – Arttu Tammi has gotten the team to click right from the word GO this season. Some tougher challenges are coming as the season continues – but during the first rounds and first month of the season – the Coach of the Month award goes to ARTTU TAMMI of Torpan Pojat!
