2023 is was once again a year where plenty happened in the Finnish Basketball scene, what was your highlight of the year or what will you remember this year from??
On the Poll you have few options, and naturally you can vote for your ‘Own Choice’ – and just leave a comment to the end to let me know your own choice.
Will you remember this year as the one where Finnish youth National teams, only for the second time!!, qualified for the World Cup. As WU16 played a thrilling EuroBasket and narrowly missed on the medals, but still qualified for World Cup 2024 in Mexico.
Or will it be Susijengi finishing just high enough in FIBA rankings to claim a spot in the qualifying tournaments for the 2024 Olympics.
Maybe it is Susiladies and their performance in November in Bulgaria, where they played well and took a deserved win at the Eurobasket qualifying opener.
On the domestic front, the Naisten Korisliiga Final series was one full of entertainment and drama. Despite it going thought the short set – it was still one of the best series in a while.
Perhaps you rate Lauri Markkanen and his appearance at the NBA All Stars game (sorry, show!) as the first ever Finn to be voted in there.
Whatever your choice, I hope you have good memories of the basketball year 2023 – which still has two days to go 🙂
