On the road – Day 6
Day 6 of ?? – location : Tallinn, Estonia
The luxury of staying in the same country for 24 hours 😉 or an actual full day, that was Saturday. Day went mostly at the team hotel, doing four different video interviews for a TV broadcast, editing one ‘BTS’ footage for the TV broadcast, kept the social media ticking on the teams various channels and got new footage from the evening training session.
Day started with an early stroll through the streets of sleepy Tallinn, not much traffic or people about at 6am – although the Team Manager of Susijengi was spotted by me on his morning walk! Always nice to get a quiet stroll through the streets of a busy city – I just hope there will be some time for those in Prague next week, after the change in accomodation plans for that leg of travels.
Lunch (or the daily meal) was this time in a Georgian restaurant, remembered from a ‘Bubble Tournament’ few years ago in Tbilisi that they have some great food. So decided to head to one close-by – and the food did not disappoint this time either.. and just as I remembered, heavy on the meats and sauces… not so heavy on the ‘greens’. Where as I am sad that our EuroBasket group is NOT in Tbilisi.. I think the scales after the journey will reflect on this positively (the Tbilisi bubble-week.. probably gained about a kilo per day!!)
One thing I have also noticed while in Tallinn and Kaunas and Vilnius in the past week, is the very public support for Ukraine.. pretty much any time there is a national flag flying, there is a Ukrainian flag next to it!! Then again, I do live in a small town in Finland… so…not many places to fly flags in the first place. Even the game venue here in Tallinn shows its support in a very visible way 🙂
Today I also started another ‘quest’ – to find a outdoor basketball court every few days. We’ll see how that goes (probably not too well before Tuesday!). But this one here was today’s court outside a school.. although there we signs that one should not enter the area.. so no close-up photos this time.
So – Sunday will be a game day.. looking forward to YET another evening with the Wolfpack! Let’s go and get another W..
