The problem with busy times

Just checked my blog – well, guess I regard this more like my online scrapbook/memory lane… as not many of the postings make any sense… and couldn’t believe it was few weeks since the last post.

Especially when there has been so much happening over the last few weeks, training sessions, media days, international games… but there lies the issue as well 🙂

When your work starts from the moment you wake-up and goes on until the moment you head to bed… there is little or no time for much else.

Even small things like driving from home to Helsinki – which takes little over an hour each way, sometimes feels a long and wasted time… you feel like you are missing on time to edit the photos and the time to post them online. Quite often before I get home, at least one or two players have sent a message asking if I have photos for them 🙂 Which is great – as it shows the players want to post photos and in one way (for me) it is almost more important and better showcase for the images/videos when the players post it .. compared to when the federation/team posts them.

But – when you keep creating the content, and posting on the clients social media accounts like 10-20 times a day.. there really is no content to put on your own channels. I mean – if I get a funny video from what I am covering.. of course it goes to the clients channels, not mine. If I get a great photo from the event… same thing.

So then it really leaves the ‘reject’ images/videos that I could post on my own blog/social media… which sort of goes a bit against what they are for.

Even my Instagram account… the latest post is from about two weeks ago. Not very good for getting people to follow me or notice my work. If you look the Insta account, you would not know that I have been covering the Finnish National teams every day for the last three weeks.

Like now – it’s 4am in Finland and I’m at the team hotel in Tampere.. ready for tonights game Finland vs Lithuania (sold out 13.000 arena BOOOM!!!!) but none of that on my IG … moments like this you know you are doing work for clients you love and are getting paid for this, not shooting for ‘exposure’ 😉

At least four more weeks – well, if the accreditation for World Cup still is OK – of this. From 4am until 11pm … create-brainstorm-publish-create-brainstorm-publish .. some might say I have no life, and maybe they have a point.. but then again.. it’s my life and I live it my way 😉
