Nordic Championships 2023 – GD 3

Thursday, it was not all about basketball – see the previous Blog post about what really mattered yesterday 🙂

But – there were games, there were video clips and photos.

From my part, maybe wasn’t on my A-game behind the camera yesterday, mind was wondering elsewhere. Which was a shame as there were some close games, especially WU20 Sweden vs Finland .. great O.T game with not much separating the two teams ( if you want to see highlight clips – check Friimixtape on Instagram for his clips from the tournament and elsewhere!!).

Still managed to get few minutes worth of video from various teams/players – who clearly had seen the initial teaser video – as the poses were struck just that little bit quicker, and not everyone was looking at me like I was some crazy guy pointing the camera at them … trust me, that is a look we behind the camera do get used to a LOT!

Maybe it’s me getting older, or more comfortable with life… but doing eight to ten hours at the Arena (with no air-con and sweaty) it does take it out on you.. and no air-con at the hotel either, so it never really feels like you are getting your body temperature down. Just actually had a walk in my floor at the hotel.. and in the morning some of the players are having their doors open.. just to get a little bit of draft going and cooling the room. For me – I do have the balcony doors.. which unfortunately you can’t keep open during the nights UNLESS you are into same kind of music U18’s men’s team from Sweden like… or the squacks of seagulls fighting for scraps of food.. or now that I mention it.. the music teenagers like sounds very much like seagulls fighting for scraps of food 😉 (yes, I am old and grumpy.. even if I do dance to cheesy pop songs during time-outs at the arena…)

Now – for the rest of the week, I am just actually here doing stuff for myself .. no clients for rest of the tourney. Something I’ve many times said would be good for me – gives a chance to test some new ideas in real game situations… which you can not do when you have certain things you need to deliver to each client. Also – can maybe take it a BIT easier for the last three days – but knowing me, I’ll probably do twice as much!!

And again – I keep saying that you should end your photos from each day with a photo you are happy with.. so today, it was Air-Kati finishing one against Sweden.
