12 days of basketball – Nördlingen – Elina, Anissa ja Venla
Just finished putting the video together from today… seems a very short day.. but might have something to do with the fact that I slept until about 10am.. and only had time to drive to Nördlingen, walk few hours in the old town, do the game/y interviews .. and go to the hotel.
Breakfast was decent at the hotel, a bit cold in the breakfast room as the front doors were constantly opening and closing.. and they were right next to the breakfast area. Lucky for me I eat my breakfast quickly 😉 Sleep was a bit better than the night before – but still a hot night.. but got some more sleep..
So – today’s video is a nice ‘tourist promo’ for the old town of Nördlingen.. enjoy the tour (there is no commentary).
The old town was nice enough, it being Sunday – everything was closed.. apart from some bakeries and cafes.
Other than the old town, Nördlingen has some scary looking places.. with teenagers hanging around some corners.. walked past a Subways in the evening with lots of little groups of teens hanging around dark corners..

Game today – really nice, once again warmly welcomed to the arena and shown around the place – and this place had ‘puolapuut’ .. which I was actually glad about.. gave me a chance to stretch my shoulders while players were warming-up before the game. I always knew there was a reason for puolapuut at the arenas!! So no more dissing the fact that arenas in Finland have puolapuut.. we NEED them!!
Nice and close game as well, although I am starting to wonder how most basketball games seem to have the first three quarters (including half-time) take about 60 minutes.. then the last quarter seems to take about 30-40minutes. But when games are as close as the one today.. let the game go on!!

It was also nice to get to do a women’s game – when planning this travel, it seems to be almost impossible to get replies from the women’s teams. Not sure if it normally would just be enough to turn up at the door for a game, but when the travels include flying/hotels and so on – I really would like to be sure I can get to the game before booking flights there. But three Finnish players in one game… not sure I am going to top that on this journey ( or am I??? ).
Straight to the hotel after the game – just a snack from a petrol station and bit of editing.. then it’s an early night for me, as I need to be at Munich airport with the rental car and ready to check-in for my flight at 9am … drive should take 80minutes.. but Monday morning and rush hour?? SatNav apps are estimating driving time to be 80min-160min.. so take it from there.
