134 and out!!

In cricketing terms – 134 and out is pretty decent score, and so it was in consecutive days of work (without a day off).

Lots of events, photos, travels, etc were squeezed into that time, which apparently is over 1/3 of the year – but working for myself I do CHOOSE to do this .. even if it afterwards sounds a bit crazy.

But – now it has been a time to spend some time in quiet nature and not having to listen to the squeaky shoes on the court or the shot clock buzzing next to you…

Also good time to reflect on many things and looking ahead..

Where as for the end of 2022 there was no days off in sight, 2023 is starting with the opposite.. not really any work to look forward to. And with the Finnish Christmas holidays coming for most people – not really expecting to get any bookings for quite a while.

Guess that is sometimes the thing that I STILL find the most difficult/challenging to deal with – sometimes you look at the calendar and see 4 months of non-stop work… next… you look at the next 12 months and wonder ‘Will the regular clients book me again for the jobs…’

Mostly I’ve been lucky that clients have stuck with me for long term, of course some clients do disappear quietly .. and that’s just something that one has to live with. Although with the kind of person I am – I do always wonder when a client does not get back to me or does not get in contact… ‘Did I screw up my last shoot?? Did they find someone better?? Did I not deliver what they were expecting??’ Probably something all freelancers go through..

But for now – no time spent on dwelling on whether there is work to come or not… just the early winter views of Finnish Lapland to keep me company..
