Sarah Gates on ToPo riding high
End of season, new look ToPo
I caught up very briefly with ToPo captain Sarah Gates after their game (win) against ToPo in Kisahalli on Wednesday evening.
SG : We’ve had a long time to learn to play together as a unit, and we just need to keep the upwards trajectory going on into the playoffs.
On the return of Modi and Carmen and their impact.
SG : Their impact is huge, they help us a lot – all they do is help our play/game.
After the tough start/mid-part of the season, what is the mood in the team like now?
SG : There’s no point in being sad about the games, and we use the tough early part as something to grow from, and hopefully you will see that once we head into the playoffs.
Importance of home crowd of home court advantage (or disadvantage for ToPo) in the playoffs? Will playing with that effect ToPo?
SH : NO!
Mood – body language
Something I pay attention to as a photographer – and the way ToPo team were on the court before/during/after the game, you can see they have the self-belief and confidence coursing through their veins right now.
And after the game vs PeKa – I think ToPo will be itching to have PeKa in the first round of playoffs as their opponents.
Likewise, I think PeKa will want to get ToPo on the first round as well – just to prove this game was a ‘one off’
So – don’t be surprised to see PeKa ‘resting’ some players on Saturday in their game vs EBT..
PLAYOFF TIME BABY!!!
Next week on Wednesday the playoffs start – CAN’T WAIT!!
