Team of the Week 01 – Men’s Korisliiga
First week – Team of the Week
Men’s Korisliiga also started this week in Finland, so let’s see who made it to this weeks Team of the Week !!
Team of the Week – 01
- Jalen Brooks (Vilpas) : Top performer of the week, when combining all the numbers from the stats, Did not outshine in any single category, but all-round performance was the key for Brooks getting the nod in his opening game for Vilpas in Korisliiga

- Jayden Taylor (KatajaBasket) : Another Korisliiga ‘rookie’ making his mark in the league as KatajaBasket snatched an away win on the opening day of the season in Kotka. Taylor putting up the numbers to grab hold of a spot in the team of the week.
- Jalen Jackson (Korihait) : Been there, done that – not the first time Jalen Jackson finds his name on the Team of the Week, and not the last either. Super to see players returning to play in the Korisliiga, and also staying with the same team. And this week – the numbers did the talking…
- Bobby Planutis (Korihait) : Been to Finland before with LahtiBasketball, this time with Korihait and more experienced and really was dominating in this game vs Kouvot in Uusikaupunki. Great return for the big man into the Finnish Korisliiga

- Avery Sullivan (LahtiBasketball) : Returning for another season with LahtiBasketball, and being the difference maker on the opening night in front of almost SOLD OUT Luhta Arena in Lahti, big double-double in the game against another ‘newcomer’ into the Korisliiga as the newly formed Seagulls visited the promoted team..
Choices …
Agree or disagree, I like to point out in the opening weeks of the season that the Team of the Week is decided by calculating a combined stats-line from various categories .. so as the age old saying goes… The stats do NOT lie!!
So whether these players would be the ones YOU choose, who knows.. but the stats say that they were the top performers in the league this week .. oh, and I do try to look so that there would not be five big guys or five point guards in the team.. so sometimes a guard can have more points than a player on five-man spot.. but got to try to make it a little balanced 😉
