Team of the Week 02 – Naisten Korisliiga

Korisliiga (Women) ended their week of games on Sunday with PeKa traveling to BC Nokia, and from that game we did get one late entry to the Team of the Week.

On the Men’s side we had couple players making a second appearance on the Team of the Week, but on the Women’s side have a brand new five players who made it to the five.

Starting again from under the basket …

CENTER : With an absolute MONSTER game on Saturday for EBT, there really was only one person who had a shout to be the center for this weeks team, NICOLE OGUN takes this spot with authority – which was pretty much the way she played against FoA as EBT cruised to a W.

FORWARDS : This spot was extremely tightly contested this week, and in the last minutes of Sunday evening.. one place was only decided then. So on the wings for this weeks team we have MARY STEWART of TAMPEREEN PYRINTÖ – one of the key players as they got the W earlier in the week. Same can be said about the second player on the other wing, as we have ELINA KOSKIMIES of PELI-KARHUT taking that spot, with Ellu being one of the few players who’s ‘legs were not left on the bus’ during the opening 20 minutes of their game on Sunday.

GUARDS : Going with the experience first here, as she is playing her third season in Finland, and not a stranger to being one of the key players for her team we have CIERRA WALKER from TAPIOLAN HONKA taking one place on the back court – the other goes to another young Finnish player as TIIA TALONEN of HBA was putting on the after burners in their game vs BC Nokia on Friday evenings LATE-LATE game (which ended like 22.20 in the night!!)
