Korisliiga – Team of the Week 01
Season is off and running – and here is the FIRST – TEAM OF THE WEEK for this season, now, there might be people who watch every second of every game and study how the players play and give their verdict on the Team of the Week that way…
Me – I am going by stats, and there is a method I use to count the points – so that is how the team is compiled… whether the players go to right places.. I try to make sure I don’t pick five big guys.. but try to make room for players in all categories ( C, F, G…)
And as I do not yet have new photos of all the players .. this post is just the names… trust me, this will get a WHOLE LOT more interesting as I get the photos of everyone and stuff… just keep an eye on this space 😉
But – my choices for the Team of the Week in Men’s Korisliiga – Week 01 2024-25 :
Center : Only one choice really came through when looking at the stats – the other stand out players were still some way off, first choice goes to MIKAEL AALTO from KORIHAIT !!
Guards : Choosing two guards for the roster – there was a tie between two players from Kouvot, so certain stats flipped the choice .. the two guards in this weeks team are DARIUS QUISENBERRY from TAPIOLAN HONKA and JAMES BISHOP IV from KOUVOT.
Forwards : Once again, two players in this category and a second entry from one of the teams to the first Team of the week for Korisliiga – the players are from HELSINKI SEAGULLS – RENE ROUGEAU and from TAPIOLAN HONKA – ANTHONY ROBERTS.
As this is the first week of the new season, all players naturally only have ONE entry to the Team of the Week – best scores we for Roberts, Aalto and Quisenberry.
Tapiolan Honka were close to getting a third spot in the Team of the week – as their scoring was so heavily concentrated on the three players.. but ‘only’ two spots in the team for the team who got promoted at the end of last season.
